Franz Sinabell is Senior Economist at WIFO and has been working in the Research Group "Environment, Agriculture and Energy"
since 2002. He works in the fields of agricultural and food policy, environmental and resource economics and risk management.
From 2008 to 2012 he was Deputy Director of WIFO. He lectures at the University of Vienna and the University of Natural Resources
and Life Sciences. He is an expert advising the Commission on the preparation of the annual report on the economic situation
of agriculture and he is a board member of the Austrian Society of Agricultural Economics. In the course of his career he
was involved in numerous national and international scientific projects. In many cases he was project coordinator. He has
conducted studies on agricultural and food policy issues for the World Bank, OECD, the European Commission and national clients.
He is the scientific coordinator of numerous studies on the impacts of climate policy and the Common Agricultural Policy in
Austria. Most recently, he coordinated projects on the resilience of the agri-food sector, the chemical industry and the Green
Deal.
