Development of an agro-eocnomic study for the Danube River Basin

In this study a structure is developed for country reports on measures to reduce water pollution by agriculture. The aim is to obtain a coherent overview of national approaches in regulation and governance of pollution reducing efforts. The interaction between agricultural and environmental policy measures is of special interest. The report will show to what extent countries that have association agreements with the EU have already adopted water conservation and water protection policies that are in line with EU legislation and programmes. The report ends with policy conclusions aiming at attaining a better integration of river basin wide integrated approaches in cross border water management.
