Mehr Arbeitsvermittler = mehr Vermittlungen? Wirkungsanalyse eines Modellversuchs der Bundesagentur für Arbeit

The paper discussed in the lecture investigates the effect of a pilot project of the Ministry for Work where the case numbers per caseworker in the job centre in 14 German job centres was dramatically reduced. Any potential selection bias is taken into account using a matching and difference-in-difference estimation procedure. This is because the job centres were not chosen by chance. The results show there is a positive effect of having a smaller case load per caseworker on the success indicators for the job centre.
