Regional Economic Dynamics between Recovery and Energy Crisis

The aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic continued to influence regional economic trends in 2022. The catch-up potential in tourism led to particularly strong growth in tourism-intensive federal provinces. However, high price increases dampened economic momentum on a broad sectoral basis. Despite strong price pressure, the upswing in regional labour markets continued. All federal provinces recorded strong increases in employment and a decline in unemployment.
