Eastern Europe's Integration into the World Economy

The transition process in the Eastern European countries will engage these economies much more than before into the international division of labour. They will play a greater role as both suppliers and buyers of more and of different goods. New patterns of competition will emerge. On the basis of international research available to date the article tries to outline the nature of the likely structural shifts in East and West.
