Growth in Economic Activity Shifts from the West to the East of Austria

The continuation of the upswing accentuated the growth differentials among the Austrian provinces in 1990. In contrast to earlier cycles, in 1990 the Eastern parts of Austria were favoured by the late phase of the boom and economic growth was higher than in the West.
