Regional Economic Effects of the Non-touristic Leisure Industry in Burgenland

Leisure consumption by Burgenland residents at their place of residence triggered direct and indirect value-added effects of 885 million € in 2018 (valued at market prices, including taxes on goods and subsidies), contributing 9.9 percent to the overall regional economy. In 2019, the value-added effects of the recreation-related consumption in Burgenland are expected to amount to 897 million € (+1.4 percent over previous year) and to account for 9.7 percent of the gross regional product.
