Forecast of Building Permits for Housing Units in Austria 2012 and 2013. Part No. 1

Building permits are an important indicator for the development of housing construction. In order to better estimate future housing production, the number of approved new dwellings in single-family houses and in multi-family houses as well as the total housing permits are determined with forecast models. Important determinants are demographic development, the overall economic environment and housing policy. From 2011 (43,200 building permits) a decline in building permits is expected until 2013 (41,600 building permits).
