Investigating the Economic Potential of the Creative Industries in Vienna

A team of researchers from the Vienna University of Economics and Business and WIFO is analysing the development and potential of Vienna's creative industries (production areas and services where creativity plays a crucial role). WIFO concentrates on the employment opportunities offered by this new key sector of Vienna's economic policy. A detailed analysis will clarify which jobs are being created by the sector, which labour groups will profit from it and which recruiting mechanisms prevail in this "future-proof" field. The information thus obtained is designed not only to facilitate an assessment of the sector's employment potential but also to identify possible staff bottlenecks and the specific skills requirements within the creative industries.
