Perspectives of the Construction Industry in Austria. Forecast for 2006 to 2008

With momentum coming from investments into the traffic infrastructure and the building side picking up, the industry is briskly expanding at a rate of 2.5 percent this year. Over the next two years, growth will continue at about 2 percent p.a., driven by large-scale road and rail projects, as well as the building and rehabilitation of homes. Against a background of rising energy costs, considerably more investment will be directed at improving energy efficiency.
