Austria 2025 – Perspectives of a Regionally Differentiated Housing and Transport Policy Against the Backdrop of Demographic Change in Austria

A rapid increase in the residential population is expected to lead to regional differences in the demand for housing. An analysis using discrete choice methods and based on current microcensus data found that the rising costs of housing and better accessibility are the biggest factors in the choice of location. These findings can be used to obtain conclusions for infrastructure, housing and transport policies that account for and accompany such developments.
