Absence from Work Report 2013. Absences Due to Sickness and Accidents in Austria

In 2012 sickness absences in Austria were slightly lower than in 2011, on average every employee spent 3,5 percent of the year on sick leave. Over the long term the duration of sickness spells is decreasing, while at the same time injuries are becoming less important as causes of sick leave and mental health problems are on the rise.
