Exit from the Labour Force and Retirement Dynamics in the Construction Sector

An analysis of the retirement age and the labour force exit age (age at which pensioners quit their last job) of men shows that men in the building and construction industry are granted disability pensions more frequently than in the whole economy (56 versus 39 percent). In the economy as a whole early retirement dominates (47 versus 39 percent in the building and construction industry). Merely 5 percent of the yearly male pension entrants in the building and construction industry receive old-age pensions (14 percent in the economy as a whole).
