Forecast of Building Permits for Housing Units in Austria for 2009 to 2011

Building permits are a key indicator for housing trends and thus for overall economic development. Due to a change in the statistical reporting of construction starts, there were no official data on building permits available from 2002 to 2009. The database provided since September 2009 makes it possible to create a forecast model for building permits for the period of 2009 to 2011. The results are analysed against a background of the overall economic environment and are used to improve estimates of mid-term future perspectives for housing construction.
