European Construction Industry will Experience Slower Growth Rates until 2010

In 2006, the boom in the construction industry contributed substantially to the economic upswing in Europe. After an annually growth rate of 3.8 percent in real terms in 2006, the pace of new construction slowed down in 2007 (+2.0 percent) throughout the 19 Euroconstruct countries in 2007. Between 2008 and 2010 the industry's growth is expected to decelerate markedly, to 1.5 percent p.a.
