The Austrian Research and Technology Report 2003

Against the background of rather ambitious international goals in the field of technology policy, the "Research and Technology Report of 2003" analyses recent trends in the Austrian innovation system and compares the situation in Austria with that in other EU countries. The report includes evaluations of the overall funding and composition of research and development (R&D) in Austria and summarises results from benchmarking activities in the EU. A separate chapter concentrates on Austria's position within the emerging European Research Area. In addition, recent developments in the field of technology policy such as institutional reforms, policy strategies and current utilisation of policy instruments are discussed in detail.
