Absence from Work Report 2019. Absences Due to Sickness and Accidents in Austria

In its focus chapter, the Absenteeism Report 2019 deals with the risks and opportunities arising from the flexibilisation of working time and the use of different working time regulations for health and sick leave (full-time, part-time and flexitime models as well as shift work and on-call duty). Following an overview of the research findings available to date, the distribution of working time and different working time models in Austria will be examined. In the third part, empirical analyses will be carried out for Austria on the relationship between flexible forms of working time and the frequency of sickness and, as far as possible, other health indicators.
