Absence from Work Report 2017. Absences Due to Sickness and Accidents in Austria

This report provides an overview of absences from work due to illness and accidents in Austria. The 2017 edition will contain a focus on "Promoting active aging in the workplace". As a first step, empirical findings about the health situation of the older workforce as well as the most important hurdles and challenges for the employment of older workers are presented. In a second step, the characteristics of "age-appropriate workplaces" are investigated. The third and final part takes a practice-oriented viewpoint and, in the light of concrete measures and good practice examples, examines the options for promoting active ageing in the workplace.
