EUKLEMS – Productivity in the European Union: A Comparative Industry Approach

This project aims to create a database to facilitate European comparisons of economic growth, productivity, employment creation, capital formation and technological change at the industry level for all EU countries from 1970 onwards. It is coordinated by the Groningen Growth and Development Center (GGDC) with 15 participating organisations from across the EU. Data will be assembled using the methodologies of national accounts and input-output analysis. The input measures include capital, labour, energy, material and service inputs, and are adjusted for quality differences over time and across countries. Productivity measures will be developed in accordance to growth accounting techniques. The database will then be used for analytical purposes, e.g. studies of the link between productivity and technological.
