COSTS - Affordable mobility: Determinants, effects and developments - Design and assessment of innovative strategy options

COSTS investigates the impact of prices and income on the future travel behaviour in Austria. As a second focus of the study, the scope and requirements (tasks) of the transport providers and the transport policy to guarantee a fair and affordable access to the transport system for everybody are compiled and assessed. The analyses and assessments are based on a range of existing datasets in the area (such as the official consumption survey data) which will be investigated thorougly. COSTS is guided by the aspiration to comprehensively reveal the interconnections of affordabilty, income and mobility and to develop practicable paths of public interventions to provide safe, acessible and cheap transport options.
