Mag. Dr. Benjamin Bittschi

Benjamin Bittschi has been working as an economist (Senior Economist) in the Research Group "Labour Economics, Income and Social Security" of the Austrian Institute of Economic Research since 2021. He studied economics at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU), where he completed his diploma studies in 2009 and his doctoral studies in 2013. His professional stations were the Mannheim Center for European Economic Research (ZEW), the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and the Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS) in Vienna. He works with methods of applied microeconomics in the areas of labour market economics, finance, and social security (health and pensions). In these areas he advises national and international organizations, publishes articles in international journals (e.g., Journal of Public Economics, European Economic Review, Journal of Applied Econometrics) and national journals relevant to economic policy.
