
Priv.-Doz. Asjad Naqvi, PhD
Asjad Naqvi is a Senior Economist in the Research Group “Climate, Environmental and Resource Economics” at the Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO), where he has been working since June 2022. His research focuses on the interactions between climate change, economic growth and inequality, with particular attention to global trade, migration and financial flows. Methodologically, his work combines macroeconomic modelling, agent-based modelling and causal inference approaches. He received his PhD in Economics from the New School for Social Research in New York in 2012 and his Habilitation in Economics from the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) in 2020. His previous affiliations include WU Vienna, the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), and the World Bank.
