Visualisation

Visualisations are becoming increasingly important, especially in the dissemination of research projects. For this reason, a visualisation team was set up at WIFO in 2018. The visualisation team covers a broad spectrum of software, programming and graphics skills to visualise research results and to present even large amounts of data comprehensibly. Its focus is on the implementation of appealing designs as well as CI-compliant and, if necessary, barrier-free visualisations.

WIFO staff covers the entire range of visualisation processes: data preparation (e.g. R, Python, Stata, Julia, QGis), visualisation (e.g., VIS libraries: ggplot2, flourish or web-based stacks: webpack, vue, d3), visual editing (e.g., Adobe Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects) and accessibility (e.g., axesWord, Adobe Acrobat Pro, PAC).

The visualisation division is strengthened on a selective basis by persons from our Research Groups, who contribute expertise as well as additional knowledge for subject-specific visualisations. The team can be reached at visualisierung@wifo.ac.at.
