Tax Reliefs for Families. Assessing the Current Changes in Tax Tariffs and the Increase in Child Allowance According to the Tax Reform 2016

The Austrian federal government has just adopted the 2016 tax reform. This will have a positive impact on almost all those subject to wage and income tax. In order to determine the real net effect for Austrian families, the 2016 tax reform will be simulated on the basis of representative income data sets that reflect the actual family structure of the Austrian population as a whole. Thus, the tax reductions for family households can be fully captured and compared with those for non-family households.
