High-frequency business cycle indicators for eight GDP sub-aggregates of the national accounts expenditure and production side

In this project, coincident and leading indicators for eight GDP sub-aggregates of national accounts expenditure (private consumption, investments, exports and imports) and output (value added in manufacturing, construction, market services and tourism) are calculated on the basis of timely available (maximum lag of 14 calendar days, but generally shorter) high frequency (daily and weekly) data. These indicators are used in nowcasting (current month) and short-term forecasting (current year). This project is a companion to the project "High Frequency Business Cycle Observation", in which the statistical-econometric methodology for nowcasting and short-term forecasting indicators for real GDP in Austria are developed.
