6th Austrian Family Report – Lot 13: Migration and Integration

Building on WIFO's extensive preliminary work, the findings on the integration of migrants at the individual level are supplemented by a look at families with a migration background. Integration is understood as a multi-layered phenomenon that encompasses economic, social, and political dimensions. Accordingly, a variety of indicators will be analysed in order to obtain as complete a picture as possible of the integration of families with a migration background in Austria. The central questions are: 1. Do families with a migration background differ from families without a migration background with regard to these indicators? 2. Which factors are decisive for differences within the group of families with a migration background? 3. How do the differences between the result indicators of the parent generation affect their children?
