The Economic Impact of Metrology and Geodesy Services

Public institutions such as the Federal Office of Metrology and Surveying (BEV) perform complex services that are of fundamental importance for the functioning of an economy. The study investigates the economic significance of the activities of the BEV by means of a comprehensive "public value" approach. It examines the concrete functions and tasks as well as the public value added by these services. The focus here is on the institutionalised creation of trust as a basis for the coordination of economic activities.
