SfU – Service for Business. What are the Approaches taken by European Employment Services? Preliminary Report

Public employment services have a wide range of tasks, which can range from matching labour supply and demand through placement, to the provision of information and counselling, to the provision of active labour market programs and the payment of benefits. In the concrete design of the range of services on offer, parallels but also differences can be found across countries. The present study focuses on an overview of business-related services within the framework of (active) labour market policies in other European countries in order to make the best possible use of the labour force potential. From this, approaches are sought that can contribute to the further development of the instruments, initiatives and measures used in Austria.
