Austria 2025 – Austria as an Immigration Country

Same as in almost all countries, migrants in Austria are at a disadvantage compared to natives in many different areas: they are unemployed more often, more rarely integrated in the work process, frequently have jobs for which they are overqualified, earn a lower income and are worse off in terms of education. As an analysis of microcensus data found the differences in the success of their integration depend on their country of origin, duration and reason of their stay in the host country, age, sex, marital status and level of education, and may, at least in part, be explained by differences in the socio-demographic composition (age, sex and education) of migrant groups and natives, respectively.
