Price Dampening Effect of Non-Profit Housing

The overarching question of the project is to what extent the non-profit housing stock has a price-dampening effect on the for-profit housing segment. In order to map the interactions between non-profit housing associations (GBV) and for-profit actors in an empirically validated way, comprehensive data work is carried out by pooling 50 years of microcensus data. The microcensus allows both long-term developments and regionally differentiated analyses to be carried out. Both are ultimately necessary in order to be able to make statistically valid statements about the impact of GBV. The intended analysis thus closes a gap in the research on the contribution of non-profit housing providers, which play a structurally important role in Austria and especially in Vienna.
