Dr. Stefan Schiman-Vukan, MSc

Stefan Schiman-Vukan is Senior Economist at WIFO and has been working in the Research Group "Macroeconomics and Public Finance" since 2012, mainly in the field of business cycle monitoring and forecasting. Since 2015 he has also been a lecturer on business cycle analysis at the University of Applied Sciences of bfi Vienna. In the field of academic business cycle research, his focus is on the application and development of VAR models to labour market and monetary policy issues, on which he has published in renowned academic journals like the American Economic Journal, Review of Economic Dynamics and Macroeconomic Dynamics. Another area of expertise is the modelling of long-term scenarios of public finances. The doctoral studies at WU Vienna were preceded by studies in Economics at the Universities of Maastricht (Master) and of Graz (Bachelor).
