Gender Equality Index Labour Market

The position of women and men in the world of work is influenced by a large number of indicators. Against this background, WIFO, in coordination with the AMS, has designed a "Gender Equality Index Labour Market", which bundles 30 indicators from four thematic fields – work, income, education and family – into one index to outline the labour market situation of women and men in an aggregated form. The indicators calculated for the four thematic fields capture the role of women and men on the labour market quantitatively, reflect their income and employment prospects, show the education and training structure for both genders as well as the reconciliation of family and work. This publication presents the results of the third update based on the latest available data.
