German Economics Minister Appoints Christine Zulehner to Advisory Board

New Member of the Ministry's Scientific Advisory Board
At the suggestion of his Scientific Advisory Board the German Federal Minister of Economics and Energy Peter Altmaier has appointed Professor Christine Zulehner as a new Board Member. Zulehner is a professor of economic policy at the Institute of Economics at the University of Vienna and a research staff member at WIFO.

The Scientific Advisory Board advises the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy independently in the form of letters and expert opinions on economic policy issues and selects the subject of its deliberations itself. It has 37 members and is chaired by Klaus M. Schmidt of the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. Christine Zulehner is Professor for Economic Policy at the University of Vienna and a research staff member in WIFO's Research Group "Labour Market, Income and Social Security". Christine Zulehner received her Ph.D. in Economics from Humboldt University Berlin. Prior to joining the University of Vienna, she held positions at the Universities of Frankfurt and Linz. Christine Zulehner is interested in industrial organisation, competition policy, labour economics and gender economics. Her research has been published in international journals like the American Economic Journal: Microeconomics, International Journal of Industrial Organization, Journal of the European Economic Association and Review of Financial Studies. She has also been a consultant on antitrust cases to various firms and government agencies.
