The lecture focuses on international competitiveness and new industrial policy in the European context. Thereby industrial policy is interpreted as public interventions to increase competitive performance in the area of particular industries with special consideration of the specific technological and competitive regimes (e.g., demand conditions, specific sector regulations, etc.) under which each industry operates.
