96th Euroconstruct Conference: European Construction Market Outlook until 2026 – European Construction Activity Expected to Decline: Civil Engineering Proves Resilient. Summary Report

  • Euroconstruct (Euroconstruct)

The 96th Euroconstruct Forecasts Winter 2023 show a decline in the construction markets covered by the 19 members of the network in 2023 and a more pronounced downturn in 2024, due to inflation, high interest rates and weak demand. The slowdown is mainly driven by residential construction, where the number of new dwellings completed in the Euroconstruct countries is forecast to fall to 2016 levels by 2025. However, non-residential construction and civil engineering will fare better thanks to government investment in vital infrastructure such as transport and energy. Overall growth in the Euroconstruct countries is expected to pick up slightly between 2025 and 2026.
